Arusha National Park boasts an impressive size of 137 sq. km, making it a must-visit destination in Tanzania. Situated only 37 km from Arusha city, the park's proximity makes it ideal for day trips. The park is famous for four main features: the Ngurdoto Crater, Momela Lakes, the highland Montane Forest, and the rugged Mount Meru, standing tall at 4575 m above sea level. One can catch a stunning glimpse of the surrounding area on clear days. Majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro towering at 5895 m to the east. A unique highlight of the park is combining game drives with nature walks in areas where visitors can leave their safari vehicles and enjoy the crisp, fresh air. The park has various animals, including Abyssinian black and white colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, red forest duikers, hippos, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, bushbucks, and occasionally leopards. There are over 400 bird species that call the park their home. Including Eurasian migrants that flock in from October to April, bird enthusiasts are in for a treat. Mount Meru, a climber's paradise, can be conquered in three to four days with overnight stays in comfortable alpine huts.

The most common animals this park boasts an impressive array of wildlife, including Abyssinian black and white colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, red forest duikers, hippos, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, bushbucks, and the occasional leopard sighting. Moreover, bird enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the park has documented over 400 species of birds, including Eurasian migrants visible between October and April. If you're feeling adventurous, you can tackle Mount Meru, which rises a towering 4575 meters. The climb typically takes three to four days, and alpine huts are available for overnight stays.
