Day by Day Description
Arrival in Arusha
Upon your arrival at the Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport, your private driver guide will be waiting to pick you up and transfer you to your lodging. Before embarking on your safari, the following day, you can enjoy a pleasant dinner and spend the night.
Lake Manyara National Park
Once we finish breakfast, we'll begin our journey to our destination. Lake Manyara National Parkāis a beautiful destination known for its abundant birdlife and lions that climb trees. The park is situated between the striking western escarpment of the Rift Valley on the west and the shallow, alkaline Lake Manyara on the east, which covers a vast portion of the park. And floods and dries with the seasons. During the rains, thousands of flamingos make it their home. "Manyara" comes from the Maasai word for a popular plant used to build protective enclosures around homesteads (bomas). The park's vegetation is diverse, ranging from savannah to evergreen forest. As you explore the park, you may come across giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, if you're lucky, lions lounging in the trees.
After an extensive game drive and lunch, we will head to our comfortable partner lodges in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will depart for Ngorongoro Crater. Upon first sight, the Crater appears like a world that has been forgotten. Hidden behind steep volcanic walls is a pristine wilderness with sweeping savannah, acacia woodland, and sparkling lakes and swamps. The Crater came into existence due to a colossal volcanic eruption that led to its implosion. Around 2-3 million years ago. It is renowned for its geological wonders and being a natural reserve home to some of the densest populations of large mammals on the African continent. The journey down into the Crater is an adventure in itself, and upon reaching the Crater floor, you will quickly find yourself surrounded by numerous wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and over 500 species of birds. The Crater offers the best chance to spot the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be detected in the open grasslands. After lunch and an extensive game drive, we will head to our partner lodges in Karatu to enjoy dinner and spend the night comfortably.
Tarangire National Park to Departure
We depart for Tarangire National Park early in the morning after breakfast. The park bears the name of the Tarangire River, which flows through it. It is the only water source for wildlife during the dry season. The vegetation in some areas is quite dense, consisting of elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forest. The elephant families in the park are well-known, often seen congregating by the river.
Additionally, you may spot giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest, with predators like lions and leopards following them closely. Tarangire National Park has more bird-breeding species than any other planet. After an extensive game drive and lunch, we head back to Arusha.
