Camping Safari

Day by Day Description

Day 1 - Arrival in Arusha
Upon your arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a representative from Ishi Africa Safaris will be waiting to greet you. They will then transport you to your accommodations in Arusha. Your overnight stay will be spent at your designated lodging, in anticipation of your safari adventure the following day.
Day 2 - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we will head to our first destination, Tarangire National Park. This park is named after the Tarangire River that flows through it. During the dry season, it's the region's only water source for wildlife, earning the nickname "river of warthogs." The vegetation is dense in certain areas, consisting of elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forest. The park is well-known for its elephant families, often gathering by the river. Additionally, you may spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, closely followed by predators such as lions and leopards. Tarangire National Park has the most significant number of breeding bird species compared to anywhere else! Dinner and overnight at a public campsite
Day 3 - Ngorongoro to Serengeti
We set out for the Ngorongoro crater after breakfast. As we arrive at the crater's edge, we are mesmerized by the stunning views of the untouched volcanic caldera, home to Africa's highest concentration of big game. The Ngorongoro Crater is like a lost world, hidden by the steep volcanic walls, containing a pristine wilderness of sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and swamps. A gigantic volcano created the crater. It erupted and collapsed over two to three million years ago. It is renowned for its geological wonders and as a natural reserve that houses some of the largest mammal populations on the African continent. The journey down into the crater is an adventure in itself, and once you reach the crater floor, you will be surrounded by vast numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and over 500 species of birds. The crater offers the best opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be seen in the open grasslands if you're lucky. After a picnic lunch at Ngorongoro, we will ascend the crater's edges and embark on a We are confidently game drive towards the renowned Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight at a public campsite
Day 4 - Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti is a breathtaking destination, renowned for its expansive grasslands that offer unparalleled wildlife sightings. As Tanzania's oldest National Park and one of the oldest ecosystems, the Serengeti's climate and vegetation have remained primarily unchanged for millions of years. Despite its abundant wildlife, the Serengeti is most famous for the Great Migration, during which countless wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and antelopes, move in search of fresh grazing, with the timing of this annual event determined by rainfall patterns. Following a picnic lunch, we embark on a Let's Take a Game drive through the vast and beautiful plains of the Serengeti en route to our campsite in Karatu.
Day 5 - Lake Manyara National Park
After a delicious breakfast, we will go to the stunning Lake Manyara National Park, a natural wonderland famous for its many birds and tree-climbing lions. The park's western border is formed by the dramatic western escarpment of the Rift Valley, while the eastern side is home to the shallow, alkaline Lake Manyara. During the rainy season, the lake floods, creating a vast expanse home to thousands of flamingos. The park is named after 'emanyara,' a plant widely used by the Maasai to construct protective enclosures for their homesteads (bomas). The park's vegetation is incredibly diverse, ranging from savannah to evergreen forest. During our exploration of the park, we may encounter giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, and elephants, and if we're lucky, we may even spot lions lounging in the trees. After an exciting game drive, we will head back to Arusha, marking the end of our thrilling adventure.
