Camping Safari

Day by Day Description

Day 1 - Arrival in Arusha
When you arrive at either Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you can expect a warm welcome from a representative of Ishi Africa Safaris, who will transport you to your lodging in Arusha. Rest assured that your accommodations will be comfortable and relaxing, allowing you to fully prepare for the exciting safari adventure that awaits you the following day.
Day 2 - Tarangire National Park
After enjoying breakfast, we will set off to the Tarangire National Park. This park is named after the Tarangire River that flows through it. During the dry season, this river is the only water source for the wildlife in the region, earning it the nickname 'river of warthogs'. The park boasts dense vegetation, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forests. One of the park's main attractions is the elephant families, often found congregating by the river. Other frequently spotted animals include giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, closely followed by predators such as lions and leopards. Additionally, the park is home to a more significant number of breeding species of birds than anywhere else on the planet. Dinner and overnight at a public campsite
Day 3 & 4 - Serengeti National Park
We will depart for Serengeti National Park in the early morning, right after breakfast. The Serengeti is an awe-inspiring destination with vast open grasslands that provide exceptional wildlife sightings. It is Tanzania's oldest National Park and one of the oldest ecosystems on Earth. The climate and vegetation have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years, making it a timeless destination. Although the Serengeti is home to abundant wildlife, it is famous for the annual Great Migration, a spectacle to behold. Countless wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra and antelope, migrate yearly for fresh grazing. The migration timing depends entirely on the rainfall patterns of each year. After an extensive game drive and lunch, we will head to our campsite for dinner and overnight. We will spend two nights in this incredible park, and I assure you it will be an unforgettable experience.
Day 5 - Ngorongoro Crater
Once we finish breakfast, we will proceed with our journey by car through the area. Serengeti National Park before departing for Ngorongoro Crater. When you first see the Crater, it's like discovering a lost world. Protected by the steep volcanic walls, you'll find a pristine wilderness of sweeping savannahs, pockets of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and swamps. A colossal volcano formed the Crater. It erupted and collapsed in on itself 2-3 million years ago. It's renowned for its geological wonders and being a natural reserve home to some of the densest populations of large mammals on the African continent. The drive down into the Crater is an adventure in its own right, and once you reach the floor, you'll find yourself surrounded by wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 species of birds. The Crater is the best place to see the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be glimpsed in the open grasslands. After lunch and a comprehensive game drive, we'll head to your campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6 - Tarangire to Departure
We will leave in the morning after breakfast to visit Lake Manyara National Park. This park is a beautiful place full of natural beauty and is renowned for its various birds and tree-climbing lions. The magnificent western escarpment of the Rift Valley forms the west border of the park. Lake Manyara is a shallow and alkaline lake to the east of the park. The lake is an integral part of the park, and its size varies with the seasons. During the rainy season, it becomes home to a multitude of flamingos. The name Manyara originates from the Maasai word 'emanyara,' a type of plant used to build protective enclosures around family homesteads. The park has diverse vegetation, from savannah to evergreen forest. While exploring the park, you might spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, if lucky, lions lounging in trees. After Lunch and an extensive game drive, we head back to Arusha.
