During this 10-day safari and cultural experience, you can visit some of the most unique locations in our beautiful country. These places offer a unique safari experiences, allowing you to witness Tanzania's diverse flora and fauna.
Day 1 - Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) which caters for domestic flights, you will be met by Ishi Africa Safari representative who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Overnight will be at your accommodation waiting for your safari on the following day
Day 2 & 3 - Tarangire National Park
When you arrive in Tanzania for your safari adventure, you have two options for airports: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), both of which handle domestic flights. Upon arrival, a representative from Ishi Africa Safaris will be there to meet you. They will then drive you to your accommodation in Arusha, where you will spend the night before your safari begins the next day. Rest assured that Ishi Africa Safaris will handle everything, from airport transfer to accommodation and safari excursion.
Day 4 - Lake Manyara National Park
Once you finish breakfast, your next destination will be Lake Manyara National Park, located 120km west of Arusha. Although it is relatively small, it boasts a diverse range of wildlife. The park is named after a shallow Salt Lake that covers a large area and is home to over 500 bird species, including thousands of flamingos. During your exploration, you can spot various animals, such as monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, elephants, and, if you're lucky, lions resting in the trees. The park is famous for its different landscapes, including open grassy plains, primate-filled woodlands, and baobab-dotted cliffs. After an extensive game drive and lunch, you will head to your accommodation at Lake Eyasi for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5 - Lake Eyasi
Located in Tanzania's Crater Highlands, Lake Eyasi is a seasonal Salt Lake within the Great Rift Valley. An elongated lake lies at the bottom of the Serengeti Plateau, oriented southwest to northeast. It is located south of the Serengeti National Park and southwest of the Ngorongoro Crater, Located in the Eyasi-Wembere branch of the Great Rift Valley. The region is home to the Hadzabe Bushmen and the Datoga and Mbulu tribes. A visit with the Bushmen is a unique experience where they will gladly share their way of life, including how they live and hunt entirely off the land. Their traditional bow hunting techniques and use of local materials for everything, including giraffe tendons for bowstrings and poison-coated arrows, are fascinating. Their language features clicking noises and is similar to that of the Kalahari Bushmen tribe. The Datoga and Mbulu people, pastoralists like the Maasai, were featured in the 1980 film "The Gods Must Be Crazy." tribe. After exploring the area and learning about the local cultures, you can return to your accommodations for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6 - Serengeti National Park
After having breakfast, your journey will continue towards the fertile highlands where the Iraqw people grow wheat and corn. As we travel, we pass through mist-shrouded rainforests in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You may be lucky to spot baboons, leopards, or even elephants amidst the dense undergrowth. After passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will witness the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater before continuing. You will arrive at Serengeti National Park. By midday, you will arrive at the Serengeti National Park, the biggest in Tanzania. The park offers a range of diverse landscapes and habitats, including grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannahs, and mountains. Once you have finished your exciting game drive, our professional tour guide will guide you effortlessly to your desired destination, whether a cozy dining spot or a peaceful retreat for the night. Day 7 & 8 - Serengeti National Park
You can look forward to two days of adventure as you explore Serengeti Park, its stunning landscapes, and diverse wildlife. The park is home to various animals, including impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, and hippos. However, it's most famous for the awe-inspiring herds of zebras and wildebeests that migrate through the area. The rainfall and changes from year to year influence the animals' journey. In addition to the migrating herds, you may spot predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions.
Once you've finished exploring the park, after a day of exploring, you will head back to your lodging for a delicious dinner and a comfortable night's rest.
Day 9 - Ngorongoro
After breakfast, we drive through Serengeti National Park before going to the Ngorongoro Crater. When you first see the crater, it feels like a forgotten world. The steep volcanic walls enclose a pristine wilderness with sprawling savannahs, pockets of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and swamps. The massive crater existed around two to three million years ago due to a considerable volcano's eruption and subsequent collapse. It has gained popularity for its remarkable geological features. It is a natural reserve for numerous large mammal species, making it one of the most densely populated regions for these animals in Africa. The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself, and once on the crater floor, you'll find yourself surrounded by vast numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and over 500 species of birds. The crater is the perfect spot to glimpse the endangered black rhino, sometimes seen in the open grasslands. After an extensive game drive and lunch inside the hole, we'll head to our comfortable partner lodges in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10 - Departure
We will pick you up from your preferred accommodation and transfer you to Arusha or the Airport, marking the conclusion of your unforgettable adventure.
